The YSP Philosophy

“The Yonge Street Players is a theatre school dedicated to promoting self-esteem and risk-taking above all else. Since 1987, we’ve challenged the savvy young player who expects more than a typical acting class. YSP challenges its’ Players to confidently express themselves, problem solve, interact and critique as part of the ensemble experience. We cater to beginners looking for a creative outlet as well as to the more experienced young actor interested in developing their talent.

Our emphasis on creating original characters and sketch comedy reviews means that each class is high energy, fun and fosters a positive attitude on the part of every Player. The Yonge Street Players welcomes all kinds of young people, ages 7 to 17, shy, funny, really funny, multi-talented or seriously dramatic.!”
